Deep clean vs regular clean: what's the difference?

Bright, freshly deep-cleaned kitchen with white cabinets
Short answer

A regular clean maintains a home: surfaces, bathrooms, floors and bins, usually weekly or fortnightly. A deep clean is a thorough, top-to-bottom clean that also removes limescale and grease and reaches skirting boards, door frames, radiators and the areas behind and under furniture. Most homes need a deep clean once or twice a year.

What does each clean include?

How long does each take?

A regular clean of a two-bedroom flat takes around three hours. A deep clean of the same flat takes five to seven hours, or about half a day with two cleaners.

Which one does your home need?

If your home has not been professionally cleaned for a while, start with a deep clean, then move to regular cleaning. The deep clean resets everything, and regular visits keep it there for less time and money.

Is a deep clean worth it?

Yes, once or twice a year. It removes the build-up a regular clean cannot, and makes regular cleaning faster afterwards.

Should my first clean be a deep clean?

Usually, yes. A deep first clean brings the home up to standard so regular visits can maintain it.
